 Mission Statement

Our mission is to save the Lockport New York Central Train Station on Union Street from ruin due to time, weather, and vandalism.

 Who We Are

New York Central Train Station, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non- profit created because we love the Lockport train station and we know the community does too! We want to see this registered historic landmark restored to its former glory. With the help of volunteers, private donations, grants, sponsors, and some hard work, we think that can happen. The plan for the building rehabilitation will soon be available to read on this website.

We are maintaining the property and preventing any further degradation of this long neglected site. When the rehabilitation is complete, we will provide a renewed building that promotes tourism in the area, brings in trains, offers a community gathering space, and supports events from local businesses.

 The Vision

When the Lockport New York Central Train Station on Union Street is operating and open to the public, visitors will be able to ride the train for a day trip into Lockport, with trains stopping here from Brockport and Niagara Falls. There will also be rentable space for events, a small eatery, and a museum space for local residents to enjoy the history of this Lockport landmark.

From the train station, individuals are walking distance from the newly renovated Historic Palace Theater, Cornerstone Ice Arena, and Main and Market Street shopping. The engineering marvel that is the Historic Lockport Locks is just a ten minute walk, and the list goes on.
